Sort of proggy, dreampop with angular bits and off kilter stuff thrown in. They've gone off the boil since the guitarist left but they had a run of 4 fucking ace albums from Frengers onwards.

Also ..And The Glass Handed Kites is one of my favourite ever albums coupled with of one of the worst ever album covers

I deliberately didn't post that one because I thought I'd get some different stuff up first. It's an absolutely magical tune though.

The whole first 7 songs of ..And the Glass Handed Kites is maybe one of the greatest opening sequence of songs in my musical library. The sheer ambition of it all is very prog but the sweet melodies are never far away at any point. They really should be fucking massive but it isn't going to happen nearly 30 years in.

The contrast between J Mascis' vocals and the main vocal line on this song...
