That's Glinner's afternoon right there!

The front cover of Viz is often a highlight, for me at least, though I have to say this months issue (July/August) is a bit of a belter. I have tried to embed a pic but failed... it features a Fawlty Towers pastiche that raised a chuckle here.

Edit: fixed it

Who's in the basket? Beer can in hand, but it doesn't look like 8 Ace.

I've just noticed that the Major has the papers under his arm, very amusing

Flipping through some old back issues and found this in the Wacky Racists strip:

I like the way a lot of effort was made inventing names for the Wacky Races-type cars. Then there was Bernard's

This made me laugh too:

Davey Jones is the best.

I'm trying to remember if it was Viz or The Framley Examiner which had a half-page section of spoof holiday adverts, but I vividly remember one about a dog-friendly caravan park with the amusing signoff "We don't mind if you fuck the dog".

It was TVGoHome.

king_tubby

Ah, was it Viz that described Unity Mitford's chin smelling of Hitler's ball?

Can someone post Wacky Racists in full please?

Moj

Hitler doing the finger moustache despite being Hitler and having the actual moustache is a detail I've never noticed before. Spectacular work.

Reminiscent of Basil Fawlty, though he didn't do the salute.

Johnboy

In the recent fawlty towers issue I really liked the piece about pubs getting ready for the hot summer.

Just the pure ordinariness of the subject and the effort to make a story out of it, there was nothing ridiculous or surreal, just a slightly over the top reporting style,

I dunno, anyway I was in absolute bits reading it, brilliant stuff

Ferris

The current issue (I have an overseas subscription so might be one behind) has a Drunken Bakers strip that is an all-timer.

Spoiler alert
It's the one about the daughter.

Laughed, and had to sit quietly and digest the bleakness for a little while after. Fantastic.
