I love Bob but I wish he'd done a book of short stories, like Limmy. Wouldn't have sold as well though. These feel like they're aimed more at people who know him from Would I Lie To You than sicko obsessive Catterick fans.

New one (Bob, Sally Phillips and Paul Whitehouse narrating) is #1 on Audible and Satsuma (Bob and Sally Phillips) is #7, he's right up there with the greats - Richard Osman etc.

Quote from: mr. logic on September 02, 2024, 01:43:14 PMI remember when he was publicising his autobiography there was a big feature in the Guardian and he said he wanted to make it full of Bob-like flights of fancy but wily publishers and editors talked him out of it. This was presented as a good thing and I felt a bit bad for wishing they hadn't. Find the subsequent autobiography a bit lifeless

Agreed, interesting but quite workman like really.

Need the second volume of Jim's autobiography NOW.

Love Bob and enjoyed his autobiography although it did feel pared down. There was a chapter of random stories that really lit up. Unfortunately I'm really not fussed with a novel.
