Would be nice to see but the beeb don't like us seeing nice things on iPlayer!

The Ombudsman

Seems this video has been promoted by the algo, as it appeared for me last night. I'd be interested in seeing the full video, can't understand how I missed it at the time.

Same here

Utter Shit

If @Neil is happy for me to (as it doesn't seem to be available commercially elsewhere) I can upload this to my Google drive and leave a link.

Aren't you nice.
That would be ace.

This is all too exciting.
What are the powers that be saying?

I know it's how linear time works and everything but it's mad to see how young Coogan looks.

Yeah, it's really strange - especially given how Partridge has aged backwards since IAP.

You couldn't have convinced me that the middle-aged Partridge in the first season of IAP was being played by a 30-year-old. You still can't, actually.

Some people measure their age against what David Bowie was doing at their age; I do it with Coogan. I'm fairly young and I'm now at the point where he did the first series of I'm Alan Partridge, which seems absolutely remarkable.

Same. It's not a very nice feeling, honestly.

I know what you mean, but the one that really never fails to depress is: by the time The Beatles broke up, Paul McCartney was 27.

tourism

I never know how to deal with people who moan about being shitter than their idols were at their age because it's both sort of arrogant and a bit aw bless. I suppose they'll age out of it

DJ Bob Hoskins

Maybe, but unlike half of The Beatles I at least managed to avoid being shot, stabbed, or dead; so needless to say I had the last laugh.

I'm trying to get a thread going about 'The Best of the Beatles' going in the comments on there, but I can't remember how the rest of it goes.

Also "Alan Partridge on Open Books with Martin Bryce" is brilliant and may have been missed by a few here.

Especially good if you are not overly familiar with "I, Partridge"

Open Books is on the Partrimilgrimage DVD, making it much more easily available. Not a huge fan of it, but it has some great moments.

Noodle Lizard

I remember the strange interaction with a fan in the audience being a great little moment, but the rest of it was rather forgettable. Basically just a plug for the I, Partridge audiobook, but good as far as those sorts of things go.

Rizla

Open Books is unmissable Partridge content, but it's Robert Popper who steals the show, he's superb in it. Fuckin "Boy of War". Incredible.

Mobius

Yeah Open Books is great. Seemed to not get as much attention as Scissored Isle/WTTPIML

I just finished rewatching This Time over the past few nights and it's so good. I feel like it was maybe not fully appreciated when it first came out, but IMO it's as strong as anything Partridge has done.

This is a favourite little bit of mine, it's such a great detail, especially the brief shot that reveals he's been removed from the audience.

Yes same. Love the way Alan keeps an eye on him when he tries to move on. Had forgotten it's Tom Davis.

"I said I'd come back to give a talk to the kids on the history of fire."

God, I love Partridge.
