I can invite people to bitmetv and tvchaos, as long as you're au fait with their rules etc. (I know that at bitmetv at least they will kick the inviter off the system if the invitee misbehaves)

I'd much appreciate a tvchaos invite if there's one going, cheers

If anyone could recommend a good torrent site for UK telly shows along the lines of UKNova, TheBox etc i'd appreciate it. Invites are handy too but even if it's just a decent one i can use over the next few days while i'm at home with fast net etc. looking for a couple of things that i thought would be easy but having zero luck and i reckon i need a more specific place.

I've also got a shedload of MySpleen invites that I'd quite like to get rid of if anyone wants one.

PM if interested, like.

I'd also be up for an invite for any torrent sites dealing in UK TV shows (like TheBox used to).  Hook a brother up, would ya?

Exists.

If anyone gets hold of an invite for any of the whatcd successors. (Passtheheadphones, Nostream, anything else) I'd appreciate one. If I get any i'll pass along any invites I get hold of here.

I've registered with MySleen but have no idea of the rules or what I'm supposed to do. Also any searches I made didn't bear any fruit. I'm wondering what the advantage of MySleen is exactly. Not trying to sound ungrateful I've just never been in a private torrenting site before. Any hints and tips going? I could be breaking a rule right now without knowing it.

It has a lot of rare/unreleased stuff. I think it just takes a while to get used to and find something you want. I found the BBC2 Star Trek night which i have been looking for for over 15 years. Couldn't get that or a rare Billy Connolly show to download so looked at the rules and there are only certain Torrent clients that work. I downloaded BitTornado but still couldn't get anything to work though. Will be a few weeks before i get a chance to try again but there is defo something for everyone on there.

Xanax was open reg. PTH, no hope whatsoever for a long while.

NoStream is a shambles, they openly posted their server info on Reddit.

Yeah, MySpleen is pretty specialist.

Do you have to upload or leave a torrent in your desktop for a while so others can seed or any rules like that? I immediately tried to get Phil Kay's TV show from the 1990s (Phil Kay Feels) but it wasn't on there. I have pretty niche tastes myself but it depends what that niche is I suppose.

Twed

I think MySpleen is one of the really rare private trackers that doesn't enforce any ratio requirements.

Most will want you to upload more than you download, or nearly as much as you download.

I seed everything I download for a month. I use a Seedbox (a computer in the cloud running rtorrent) to do my torrenting; I don't think I'd last long on many private trackers if I used my own computers and my home connection.

Myspleen tends to be good for obscure American stuff (there's a lot of adult swim shows on there) and fan edits of films, but the odd oddity turns up from time to time, like Review with Myles Barlow which is a superb Australian series, and the basis for Andy Daly's Review with Forrest MacNeil.

MySpleen's got a lot of decent video stuff on there, including out of print films and rare TV rips, but the thing that annoys me about the place is the fact that they insist on uploading so much of their video in fucking .iso / dvd format, so the file sizes are ludicrous.

Very few of the uploaders seem to put anything on there in more manageable, user-friendly mp4 or avi versions.

Whoever signed up to TVChaos with the word "Bastard" in their name, TVChaos told me off and said they've changed it to JimmyB. Just letting you know so you can log in.

Also to let everybody know that TVChaos are liars:

QuoteWe cannot allow usernames that may offend other members, staff have received around 20 complaints in the last hour!

Yeah, okay, the most puritan site on the entire Internet is somehow a TV piracy site, where people just sit around monitoring new user sign-ups for non-swears.

MySpleen is good if you want 60Gb rips of blu-rays as well. Not that I do but you might. And terrible quality workprints that get you all excited by their content and then you never watch them because of the aforementioned quality issues

A version of Kickass is apparently back, run by some of the old staffers - https://torrentfreak.com/kickasstorrents-brought-back-to-life-by-original-staffers-161216/

Seems to be a bit up and down at the moment but apparently it should be fully working soon: https://katcr.co/new/

Has anyone tried signing up? From the pop up that appears, I can't quite tell if there's a charge to get in.

It appears that they've made the announcement but not made it active yet. Very peculiar. I'd suggest try again later/tomorrow. If it's still the same post here again and I'll message one of the big bods on there and see what's what for you.

Cheers! I'll try again tomorrow.

I've just had a look and it's active now.

I'm still just getting a login page, with no option to register.

NoSleep

Sign in is bottom left. If it says "log in" there, clicking "help" (top right) seemed to work.

Ah - it's there on the desktop site, but not on the mobile site, which is what I was looking at before. Righty-ho.
