That came from Howard Devoto's description of [NWS]this Linder Sterling collage[NWS] - 'another housewife stews in her own juice in a different kitchen'.

And more controversially, Architecture & Morality by OMD

That came from Martha Ladly, who was Peter Saville's girlfriend at the time. When Saville was consulting with the band over the sleeve design, she was reading the book Morality and Architecture by David Watkin, and McCluskey felt it fitted with the hybrid of humanity and technology in their music. Ladly was actually going to use the title for a song she was writing, but let the band have it.
