Shoulders?-Stomach!

Lockie has a fantastic slow ball, we got away without facing him when we beat NZ, ended up getting runs off a rusty Tim Southee.

Boult is a genius. So unlucky. Looks like he's 12. We need to see these off but I don't know how it'll happen. We'll just have to do our thing, basically. Some of this shit is unplayable, though.

Santner bhai looked decent against India, I must say. Rock solid. So would help if these two or Root are in by that stage.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

And there is the first wicket. Boo

Game over. Amazing bowling.

This isn't going to be close, they could have had 5 already.

Totally agree. It's swinging round corners here. Swing your fuckin bat all you like but we're going to have about eight caught behind.

Roy is so fundamental to building everyone else's confidence. Him getting out and looking shaky is the worst possible start. We're going nowhere here. Bairstow needs to really bat deep and long. This might well be the day Buttler has to fucking step up and do it when it counts.

MiddleRabbit

Boult and Henry move it around while Jofra and Wood don't.  Ferguson's probably on a par with either of them for pace too.

Roy's dismissal might show why he might find Test cricket more of a struggle: he's not so patient when it's trickier - and 240 looks a competitive score in this wicket.

Good.  I'd rather watch a competitive match than a rout by either side.  As things stand - 39/1 - it's still anyone's but if Root and Bairstow stay in for a while, I think England are marginally in front.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

So we are going down the Sri Lanka route of waiting for the bad balls without realising that invites good bowling and builds pressure.

Looking forward to seeing Rashid and Wood have to get 45 off 12 balls later.

Some of you are very reactionary and bad at predictions. England will win, there's a reason they're at 90% on WinViz. That doesn't take into account the fact it's a final I guess, but we're in a far better position than NZ now.

Inspector Norse

It's the right way to finish the tournament: the best bowling attack against the best batting lineup.

There's also absolutely no need to worry while we're one or two down. Three down start worrying, but by then we should be most of the way home.

I am reacting so yeah. It's a bit of fun and more entertaining to be doom merchants.

Poison, you borin casul mate. Were u been the rest of da thread?

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Root gone.

One of the worst innings I've ever seen from him.

We're done. I'm off to watch the tennis. Mental midgets.

Where are you now, Poisson? Stat whore.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Got to bow down to the visionary groundsmen who have prepared wickets for 2 finals England have reached which nullify our batsmen strengths. An exemplary act of British fair play.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Bairstow gone

It's gone PAED

We're getting nowhere near this.

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Just bulldoze Lord's.

Horrific venue

Shoulders?-Stomach!

Fire Bayliss now, just escort him from the ground altogether. Put him in a car park.

Can anyone explain what the point of all the psycho aggressive batting was the last few years when the World Cup, especially towards the end did not favour that approach? I thought the grail was the world cup. Dolts.

Fire the ground staff and actually execute one or two of them for treason.

They're bowling more economically and they've taken the big wickets. Simple as that. They didn't bat very well, we bowled pretty well in spells, but they're bowling much better and we're batting a bit worse. They will deserve this if they win it.

I genuinely would have felt worse if we lost to either the Aussies or Indians but this is painful. We're in a sleeper hold.

poo

Just hit 61 n.o. which included the sweetest fucking straight drive any cunt's ever hit ever. Couldn't give a fuck about peads now tbh.

poo

Jos'll sort it anyway

Would have been nice to have had a go, never mind, might get another shot in the next 27 years.

We don't have it in us to win ugly or gritty matches. That's just the way we've learned to play. If Roy and Bairstow don't set the platform and tone, we don't have the confidence to take the game on. It's basically on Buttler to win it by playing unlike anyone else in the match so far.
