If you really want a chance at a lot of participation, sit in the middle of a front row. Otherwise it's fairly minor or entirely optional.

But I wouldn't opt out unless it gives you an unbearable level of anxiety, it's a very much lot of fun. He's not mean and you won't look daft or anything like that.

Yeah, it can do. The start of your bit is marked with an index tab, so you can sort of know when you're approaching your bit, but you'd be following the script. Until your bit is over and you're home free.

Some people I've been with just take a Non-Speaking Role script and don't bother opening it, but there are some fun diversions you might miss when it goes off script.

Not detract but it made it a different experience for me the first time I did it, as I was nervous. Subsequent times (and there will be others!) I have enjoyed the writing/ structure more as I have been less worried about missing my cue and been able to pay more attention to what was actually being said. As cakeinmilk said, the diversions from the script also add to the experience.

And I'd say the "work in progress" bit is entirely a description of Kitson as a collaborator...

Sadly Daniel Kitson has been in touch to say he has felt ill all week and will not be well enough to perform this weekend at the Festival.

He has promised to perform his Collaborator show for us on Saturday August 24 and Sunday August 25 in the Black Box at 1.00pm instead.

I have become more powerful than I ever imagined.

Looks like Kitson and Gavin Osborne are doing a couple of practice sessions of The Ballad of Roger and Grace at The Bill Murray this Saturday and Sunday, ahead of Union Chapel the following weekend.

The Q and A was "hosted" by John Kearns. All three of them seemed very giddy.

I loved "Tree" too.

The second Q&A was also very giddy. Hosted by Isy Suttie.

Paul Williams and Rose Matafeo were sat with Isy during the screening.

Really enjoyed Tim explaining the writing process.

I didn't see any cameras filming the Q&A.

Collaborator for my fourth time at Shakespeare North in Prescot and it's different again and still stupid clever good fun. Got a line I've coveted ever since the first time.

Keith was ace. Lots of gentle mayhem. So fucking funny.

My brother in law mistakenly got tickets for this run in Deptford, not realising he's already seen the show. He's offered us the tickets but it's the same day we land back in London after two weeks in France and I suspect I'll be knackered and probably would rather chill.

Am I making a huge mistake? I've seen ol' Danny boy countless times and whilst I'll always have time to see his story based stuff, his pure stand up is what really hits the spot these days.

We've been offered potential childcare to be able to go, is it good enough for me to not be tired and annoyed if I'm not laughing constantly? (BTW I know Kitson is always good but these days I need to know something is fucking amazing to take the punt, as a perennially tired parent).

Imo it's really dead good fun. It's not stand-up, but it definitely isn't a story show. It is packed - absolutely rammed - with laughs, meta, clever and funny. 

It also bears repeat experiences (I've been to a few) so you could suggest to your brother-in-law that he goes again anyway, and you get tickets for another date when you can really get stuck in.
