This thread originally made me aware of Patti Harrison, and I really, really want to see more of her standup. She's in the Soho Theatre currently, and performing at Edinburgh festival again this year I believe.

She's got some other great bits and pieces on YouTube also, including "Convers(at)ion Therapy", where trans and non-binary people just chat about things. She comes across as being really likeable and down-to-earth, with an infectiously silly attitude and worldview.

I can't remember much about Convers(at)ion Therapy now, but enjoyed the first one I just clicked on to highlight here.

Obvious Tim and Eric influence in this and some of her other bits and pieces. 

Oh shit, I forgot all about these other videos, I think I vaguely remember the other host oscillating between being visibly uncomfortable, and wanting to join in.

Big fan, first heard of her through following her twitter account about 5/6 years ago, then first saw her in an episode of High Maintenance I think a couple of years later. Always great when she randomly pops up in things, remember her being especially good in Shrill.
Shame the couple of times she's come over she hasn't done anything outside London, would definitely go if she came anywhere closer

She's completely brilliant in the I Think You Should Leave sketches she's in ("I can't stop having WINE"). I saw her Tits show a couple of years ago at the fringe and it's well worth it.  Didn't know about this new podcast but she did another one a while ago called A Woman's Smile, which is very with a listen. The Dua Lipa song still makes me cry laughing.

I love both those songs, and that one is definitely the better of the two, with some masterful strands of escalation.  The slow reveal of who she's actually singing about gets funnier with every subsequent detail added to it, and obviously the central conceit of the song goes wildly off the rails. 

"Please confirm please confirm" is hilarious, that gets stuck in my head for ages.

Was really lucky to see Patti's show at Edinburgh last year and it was disgraceful, chaotic, revolting fun. Very much recommend catching it this year for those who can. Stuart Little, eh. Who have thought it.

Came here to post the same, her inflections and delivery are always genuinely, wonderfully odd and completely enthralling.

Absolutely love the one below, from 5:10 onwards if the time stamp doesn't work. I sometimes say "Are we even gonna get anything this year?" in the same slow despondent voice she uses and it makes my 1-year-old laugh, so there's another future Harrison fan right there.

Just got back from seeing her do MHTHBINF in Soho and it was bonkers. Totally won't translate to being filmed but I really enjoyed it. The Tim and Eric influence is there in that it's unashamedly stupid but she's got her own unique charm. Last fifteen minutes or so felt like something from a nightmare. She definitely doesn't do things by halves.

This is one of the first things I saw her in and, for all of it's snark and detached irony or whatever, both her and Joel were just naturally very funny and they had enough odd little choices and brilliant lines that I really enjoyed it.

There were so many people doing this type of show around then, in fact this was quite late to the party, but they both made it so watchable.

I think there were only a few episodes but, between this and her A Woman's Smile podcast, I was fully on board.

Beside all the stuff mentioned above I want to mention Together Together which is one of her more rare 'dramatic' roles so far playing the surrogate mother to Ed Helms tech guy wanting a baby. Looks fairly generic with this trailer but I found it charming, great supporting cast also. She hasn't really done bigger roles since(fun supporting part in The Lost City comes to mind) and all the ones so far are very comedic but it really rang home how talented she is. 

Beside I Think You Should leave my favorite thing she did so far was being in Alan Resnick's great bizarre Cool Blue Car, one of his more overlooked shorts beside Unedited Footage of a Bear and This House Has People in It. Just absolutely unique performance.

Not hugely enjoying the vids but they're enough to sell a live show. Definitely check her out if she was in the area. Did George Harrison go out with someone called Patti? Wasn't there another female sketch comedian called Harrison that was known around these parts years ago?

Really didn't get on with her 2022 Fringe show at all - and the night I saw it the folk enjoying it were in a fairly minute minority and the number of walkouts extensive.

(Not helped by her coming onstage half an hour late, which seemed to be a regular thing).

Catherine Cohen seemed to be mining similar territory - just providing a lot more laughs whilst doing so.

However, prepared to give her a second chance so we'll see what the new show brings in August.

She was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award, which is a pretty big deal for the industry. Like the indie Oscar. So I imagine she'll have further opportunities to make movies like this.

A good bit of her appeal seems to come down to how much you like her personality and that type of person. I totally get where people are coming from when they love how interesting and unique her delivery tends to be, that's huge for me too. She can make any line interesting.

I had no idea there were podcasts, I was thinking she's perfect for radio or podcasts, will be checking those out. I need to watch more of that netflix thing Frajer posted also, that was excellent.

I Think You Should Leave is really excellent. So pleased I was forced to watch it because I didn't expect it to be my thing at all.

I feel a bit guilty for mentioning it now, and I'm glad most of the focus of the thread has been on her material and delivery instead. 

But I really did enjoy Convers(at)ion Therapy and thought it was interesting to hear trans and non-binary people just being able to talk and joke about, it gives you a new perspective.  For instance, the outro to the Theda Hammel episode is sort of simultaneously hilarious and heartbreaking.  I mean, tbh in some ways it's absolutely not funny at all, but Harrison co-opting the casual cruelty and sarcastically inviting people to partake in it becomes funny, and is very enlightening.
